Critical Analysis : The Script - "Break Even"

I like this song, a lot. It's very mellow and definitely one of those "the day is going really good so I'm going to sing obscure indie-pop-rock" songs. The melody is very smooth and the vocals are really relaxing. The song is very different from the music I prefer, but I see myself listening to it over and over again. I would totally say that the song deserves to be on VH1's top 20 videos. I just like the way the song sounds. Play it at parties, weddings, or just in the car when you feel great. If you're younger, it's definitely something you can listen to around your parents.

Quick Recap:
Very smooth melody
Catchy lyrics
Relaxing mood

All in all, I really want to check out more from this band now after watching the video. A+ grade :)

Critical Analysis : Justin Bieber - "Baby ft. Ludacris"

Ok. This song honestly wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that special either. The kid has a great singing ability (although they probably touch it up in the studio), but it seems he doesn't really use it all. It was a pretty generic r&b-teen pop song that lacked any real appeal in my opinion. Then again, most teen oriented songs don't. I also find it a little strange that a 16(13?)-year-old kid is making music of this type. I just don't get it. There's nothing wrong with him making this kind of music, nothing at all, but I would at least expect him to be some-what older before writing songs about how he wants some girl to be his "baby." I guess it has to appeal to an audience, and if cheesy love lyrics coupled with generic pop beats sells records, then so be it.

So quick summary:
Not bad, but not special
He has talent, but doesn't seem to use it all
Generic sound

I'll give the song a B- in actual terms of how good it is.

    Wow!

I am simply neglecting this site XD

    Anyway.

I will post a little something irrelevant.

Bagels. Yummy bagels. I eat mine with cream cheese and jelly. I prefer grape jelly.

Is that all it takes to get people to but stuff?

I feel like going on a little rant right now. =p

Well, it's not so much a rant as it is simply pointing something out.

I've been seeing a commercial the last few days of an automatic soap dispenser that dispenses soap if you pass your hand in front of it. There's nothing wrong with the product. I actually think it's a nice little device, but it's what lies within the commemrcial. What I don't understand is they talk about there being millions of bacteria on a soap pump and this is why you should switch to this product. The thing is, the only reason I see for having to touch a soap pump is to WASH your hands. So the fact of there being bacteria on the pump is irrelevant because most soaps these days are promoted as being able to kill "99.9% of all bacteria." Now if you need to worry about the germs on the pump, then your product must not be that good, or you're using a "you must have this product to survive" approach to sell your soap dispenser. I guess I could make a vitamin pill and say if you don't take it your liver will turn to moosh or something and be able to sell it. I don't know, but I still thinks its odd to throw irrelevant facts into commercials. Oh well, that's commercialism. XD
